ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head men's basketball coach
Todd May has announced another addition to the program for the recruiting class of 2023.
The signing of Brendan Hoffman brings CU's class to three for the spring, joining prep school guard Georges Archer and junior college guard Corey Boston.
Name: Brendan Hoffman
Hometown: Charleston, W.Va.
High School: George Washington
Position: Guard
Height: 6-2
Hoffman spent the final two years of his high school career at George Washington playing for legendary coach Rick Greene. This past winter, Hoffman shot 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 78 percent from the free throw as he averaged 17.9 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per contest. Hoffman was named Mountain State Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and took home Class AAAA Second Team All-State honors.
"Brendan Hoffman is a dynamic combo guard who plays with great passion and aggression," May said. "He can score at all three levels as well as get his teammates involved. He also creates havoc on the defensive end.
"Most importantly, he fits our culture and we are excited to add him to our program," May continued.
The future Mountain Lion helped lead GWHS to the state tournament after a 36-point performance in the Class AAAA, Region III championship, where he also topped 1,000 career points, versus Princeton.
Before playing for the Patriots, Hoffman spent the first two years of his career at Huntington High where he played with current Mountain Lion
Amare Smith.
