HOT STREAK
After sweeping Davis & Elkins Saturday and Monday at home to open MEC South play, Concord ran its win streak to 10 games—the longest streak for the program since winning 10 straight during the 2010 season. The winning streak is also tied for the third-longest active streak in Division II. Fellow Atlantic Region school Seton Hill has the longest active winning streak at 17 straight victories. During the winning streak for the Mountain Lions, Concord has a team ERA of 3.98 as it has only allowed more than five runs in a game once, a 13-10 win over West Liberty. Offensive, Concord is hitting .376 over the last 10 games, compared to .316 overall. And the Maroon and Gray is averaging nearly 10 runs per game over the last 10, 9.6 runs.

INDIVIDUAL FIREPOWER
Junior outfielder D.J. Christian Jr. enters the weekend hitting .449 which leads the MEC. The West Palm Beach, Florida has five multi-hit games in his last seven contests and has driven in six of his 13 RBI for the season over that same span. Graduate outfielder Kyle Keenan has been steady near the top of the lineup for CU recently as he has hit safely in 14 of the 16 MEC games and just had a nine-game hitting streak end on Monday versus Davis & Elkins. On the mound, junior pitcher Andrew Neff collected his 200th strikeout versus D&E as he became the fifth pitcher in program history to attain the milestone Saturday. Neff and junior pitcher Eddie Blake are a combined 9-0 in MEC play this season while sophomore pitcher/infielder Rylee Nicholas is 3-1, but is holding batters to a .190 average in 21 innings of conference action.

RED HOT VERSUS THE ORANGE
Concord has won 12 straight games against West Virginia Wesleyan dating back to the 2019 season. In those 12 games, the average margin of victory for the Maroon and Gray is 8.7 runs. CU topped 20 runs in two games last season and scored at least 13 times in all four games versus the Bobcat at home. Last season, Keenan was 9-for-17 against WVWC as he recorded 14 RBI and had five extra-base hits. Christian Jr. racked up 10 hits in 16 at-bats while driving in 14 runs, including a game two grand slam. Junior infielder Zack Saryeldin also had a big series versus the Bobcats with 11 hits. Junior infielder Daniel Layne recorded a pair of multi-hit games versus Wesleyan last season, and is coming off a 4-for-4 day against Davis & Elkins Monday. Blake piled up 10 strikeouts against WVWC in 2022 while Neff is 2-0 in his career versus the Bobcats having only allowed four earned runs in 12 career innings.
