BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team downed West Liberty, 2-1, in the Mountain East Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Sunday afternoon at the YMCA Cline Complex.
CU advances to the conference semifinals for the sixth time in the last seven years, and will travel to Frostburg State 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Concord (12-5-2) scored the first two goals in the game as it got out to a 1-0 halftime lead.

Olivia Bekeleski was able to keep the ball in the penalty area. From there, Bekeleski's header was played on to junior midfielder
Anna Davis who then swept pass over to junior forward
Sydney Tucker. Tucker roofed her 11
th goal of the season.
In the run of play in the 54
th minute, graduate forward
Alexa Todd received a pass from junior midfielder
Reeanna Cook. And Todd deposited her seventh goal of the season into the back of the net.
However, West Liberty (7-8-4) put immediate pressure on the Mountain Lions as WLU drew a foul in the box 24 seconds after the Concord goal, and on the ensuing penalty Amelia Compston converted to cut CU's lead in half.

Savannah Bates made both her saves in the game over the final 35 minutes of the contest to hold the Hilltoppers down in the win.
Concord held a 12-6 shots advantage in the contest as it limited WLU to three shots in each half. The Mountain Lions owned an 8-6 edge in corner kicks.
Cook and Todd both had three shots for the Mountain Lions while both of junior midfielder
Leah Fleming's shots were on target.
