Grant, Kelly Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

ATHENS, W.Va. – Sophomore goalkeeper Keegan Grant and sophomore midfielder Tomas Kelly of the Concord University men's soccer team have been selected to the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Grant, a native of Perth, Australia, picks up his second postseason honor after he was named All-Mountain East Conference First Team. Grant, the start goalie for the Mountain Lions in all 20 games, recorded 101 saves in net this season which ranked fourth in Division II. His goals-against average of 1.07 ranked in the top 50. Grant helped Concord to seven shutouts, and eight wins overall. In the classroom, Grant carries a 3.83 GPA in business administration.

Kelly sports a 3.80 GPA as an environmental geoscience major. The Manchester, England native paced the CU offense with seven goals and finished third on the squad with four assists.  Kelly had a three-game streak of two or more points from October 4-October 11. He also scored in Concord's first ever conference tournament win over West Virginia Wesleyan (November 5). Kelly was named to the Concord Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Both players will now move on for Academic All-American consideration which will be announced in the middle of December.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and play in 90 percent of their team's games.
