BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to nationally-ranked Charleston Sunday afternoon at the YMCA Cline Complex in a Mountain East Conference contest.
In terms of shots, the game was evenly played with ninth-ranked Charleston (15-0-2, 13-0-1 MEC) owning a slight 7-6 edge on CU (10-5-2, 9-4-1 MEC).
With the bulk of the game being played in the midfield, the Golden Eagles scored in the 26
th minute on a bounding ball after an errant clearance by the Mountain Lions.
The only two shots in the first half by Concord came from junior forward
Nora Voisey, including a header that went over the bar in the 33
rd minute off a CU corner kick. Sophomore midfielder
Jessica Neville roped a shot from distance in the 58
th minute that was saved by UC goalkeeper Jordan Maynard.
Voisey took a third shot in the 66
th minute, but was unable to tie the contest.
Charleston scored in the 74
th and 77
th minutes for the final margin of victory.

Kylene Franklin both had shots in the game.

Savannah Bates recorded four saves.
The Mountain Lions took four corner kicks to UC's three.
Concord closes out the regular season at Glenville State 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, needing a win and a West Virginia State tie or loss against Charleston to secure the second seed in the MEC South.
