Concord Blanks Davis & Elkins in Six-Goal Performance

BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer tallied six goals in a shutout win, 6-0, over Davis & Elkins Wednesday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at the YMCA Cline Complex.

The Mountain Lions (10-4-2, 9-3-1 MEC) started fast as graduate forward Alexa Tood took a centering cross from junior forward Nora Voisey in the third minute, scoring her fourth goal of the season.

Voisey and junior midfielder Leah Fleming assisted on sophomore forward Caitlin Webster's fifth goal of the year in the 25th minute. And Fleming's corner kick in the 34th minute found sophomore midfielder Reeanna Cook for a header into the back of the net.

The Mountain Lions weren't done in the first half as Fleming left a pass for Todd to fire in her second goal of the game in the 38th minute.

Junior forward Sydney Tucker notched her team-best ninth goal of the fall on Voisey's third assist of the game in the 51st minute.

Todd completed her first career hat trick in the 90th minute on an unassisted goal. She became the first player with a hat trick this season for the Mountain Lions, and the first since Voisey's three-goal game at Glenville State in the 2022 regular season finale.

The three assists by Fleming and Voisey tied the single-game program record which had been done five other previous times—the most recent coming last season by Courtney Smith versus West Liberty. Graduate midfielder Michelle Brogden achieved the feat as a freshman in 2019 at Wheeling.

CU held Davis & Elkins (2-12-2, 1-10-2 MEC) to two shots in the game with only one goal as junior goalkeeper Savannah Bates and sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Pattillo shared CU's seventh shutout of the season.

The Mountain Lions fired off 34 shots in the game with 13 on goal. Todd took a game-high nine shots while three other players recorded three shots.

Concord welcomes nationally-ranked Charleston to Beckley for a 1:00 p.m. start Sunday.
