BLACKSBURG, Va. –The Concord University men's cross country team ran to a second-place finish Friday night in the season-opening meet at the Virginia Tech Invite at the Buford Meredith XC Course.
Concord scored 54 points to finish second behind only the hosts. CU bested nationally-ranked Charleston by 16 points.
Fifth-year senior
Issac Prather picked up the individual win as he clocked 18:18 on the 6,000-meter course.

Preston Prather finished 16
th and 17
th as they came through in 19:17 and 19:20, respectively. Sophomore
Logan Zuchelli just missed the top 20 as he crossed in 21
st, running 19:30. The scoring runners for Concord was rounded out by junior
Caleb Hatcher. He finished 33
rd with a time of 20:00.
