ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team prepares for a pair of home games when it hosts nationally ranked Davis & Elkins 3:00 p.m. Sunday followed by a non-conference contest against Bob Jones 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.

Through three games, CU has registered five goals with three of those on set pieces. After scoring off either corner kicks or free kicks once each in the first two games, the Mountain Lions found the back of the net off a set piece at West Liberty Wednesday night. Freshman midfielder

KEEPING THE PACE
Through three games, Concord and three opponents have nearly been even in shots with CU trailing its foes 33-32 in total shots. Other than freshman midfielder's
Tomas Kelly's nine shots, the Maroon and Gray's shot count has been evenly distributed with 13 different players recording at least one shot. Both of Shelor's shots have found the back of the net.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Tuesday's non-conference clash will be the first time CU takes on Bob Jones in men's soccer. Additionally, Concord will be seeking its first non-conference win since a win versus King in the first game of the 2019 season. The Maroon and Gray nearly came away with a victory earlier this season out of conference as it tied King, 2-2. Shelor and Baldwin were responsible for the goals. Freshman goalkeeper

SCOUTING THE SENATORS
Davis & Elkins enters Sunday's game ranked 10
th in United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll. D&E has outscored Notre Dame and Salem 8-0 in two wins this season. The Senators have had eight different goal scorers this season. Manuel Castrejon is the only player with multiple assists in 2022. Beltran Fernandez has been called upon to make 10 saves over two games. Davis & Elkins advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season with a record of 18-1-3.
BOB JONES AT A GLANCE
Tuesday's tilt will be the first game of the season for the Bruins after their opener against Shaw was postponed. BJU posted a mark of 17-2-2 in the National Christian College Athletic Association. Bob Jones has to replace the 23 goals scored by Victor Oladipo last season. However, Mario Figueroa returns after netting 10 goals a season ago.
