SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Concord University men's soccer team was defeated 7-1 by Notre Dame Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference contest at Mueller Field.
NDC (3-2-1, 2-2-1 MEC) netted a goal in the sixth minute and added a second goal in the 39
th minute. However, the Mountain Lions (1-3-2, 0-3-1 MEC) cut the lead in half two minutes later as junior midfielder
Ricardo Chinea-Pegler tallied his first goal of the season.
After an offside call in the 44
th minute on Notre Dame, the Falcons were able to score in the final 45 seconds of the first half to make it a 3-1 deficit at the intermission.
Notre Dame scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half, and netted two additional late goals.
Along with Chinea-Pegler's shot, freshman forward
Andrew Beohler recorded two shots on goal.

Tommy Smith made five saves in the second half while fellow freshman goalkeeper
Keegan Grant made a save in the first 45 minutes.
CU travels to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff Wednesday. Â
