WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to West Liberty Wednesday night at the West Family Athletic Complex in a Mountain East Conference contest.
The Hilltoppers (1-1, 1-1 MEC) scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the game to open up a 2-0 advantage on CU (0-1-2, 0-1-1 MEC).
Right before the second WLU goal in the 16
th minute, the Mountain Lions had two chances within 11 seconds, but the shots sailed wide of the net. Freshman defender
Jonathan Baldwin missed a heading attempt off a corner kick, and freshman defender Garrett Boucher pushed a shot wide of the goal.
Overall, the teams combined for just seven shots in the first half.
West Liberty added two second-half goals before CU got on the board in the 86
th minute.

Joel Walker was able to head a shot off a WLU defender after a corner kick that slipped past the goal line for the Concord score.

Nick Lowery came off the bench to lead Concord in shots as he had two of the six team shots. The Hilltoppers managed nine shots for the game.
The Mountain Lions return to action 3:00 p.m. Sunday when they face nationally-ranked Davis & Elkins at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.
