300 CLUB
Senior middle hitter Amber Hall nearly pulled off a rare feat last fall. After hitting .300 during the shortened spring 2021 season, she returned to the court in the fall to hit .298 as she collected 223 kills in 547 chances. Though she just missed out on the .300 mark, Hall joined Brook Heck (2015-18) as the only players in program history to hit better than .290 two or more times in a single season. Another 300 marker hit last season was sophomore outside hitter Hannah Steele notching 324 kills—the 11th player in program history to reach 300 kills in a single season. Steele led all MEC freshmen in kills a season ago.

GOING THE DISTANCE
Over the last three seasons, the Mountain Lions have played in 13 matches that have gone five sets including four last year. CU ended the season by outlasting Glenville State in five games. Steele collected 11 kills in the season finale. Fifth-year senior defensive specialist Kelli Ellison tallied 20 digs while sophomore defensive specialist Kaylee Spees had 10 digs to end 2021.

MATCHING UP WITH THE OPPONENTS
Of the four teams Concord will oppose over the weekend, the Maroon and Gray has only faced Mount Olive and North Greenville. In all three meetings with NGU, the winning team has done so with a sweep. CU most recently matched up with North Greenville to open the 2018 season as the only current Concord player on the roster was Ellison. Friday will be just the second time the Mountain Lions play a school from Florida when it faces the Fort Lauderdale-based Nova Southeastern. CU played Palm Beach Atlantic in 2009. And though the schools are separated by just 217 miles, Saturday will be the first time playing Wingate for CU.
