CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Charleston at Segra Field at the Welch Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play, 7-0 and 8-1.
The two defeats snap an eight-game win streak for the Mountain Lions who are now 28-14-1 this season and 17-9 in the conference. UC improves to 29-12 overall and 21-5 versus MEC teams.
Game 1: Charleston 7 – Concord 0
Charleston scored all seven runs in the first three innings as it took command of the game.

Chris Satcher each had a hit for the Mountain Lions.
Sophomore pitcher
Andrew Neff (8-3) was charged with his first loss since late February, breaking an eight-game winning streak. Neff tossed his seventh complete game of the season as he struck out four.
Game 2: Charleston 8 – Concord 1
The Golden Eagles scored seven of its eight runs in the first inning.
Down seven runs, CU strung together a rally in the fourth inning. Fifth-year senior infielder
Anthony Stehlin reached base to start the inning and was pushed into scoring position with a base hit from Satcher. Layne followed Satcher with an RBI single into left center field to get the Mountain Lions on the board.
Sophomore pitcher
Eddie Blake (5-4) settled in after the first inning as he allowed just a run in the fourth. The Moneta, Virginia native tallied four strikeouts.
Concord and Charleston finish up the four-game series 1:00 p.m. Monday with a doubleheader at Segra Field.
