ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team hosts Frostburg State and Fairmont State in two Mountain East Conference doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday at the CU Softball Field.
CU will play Frostburg State on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and then host Fairmont State on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Concord is currently 12-26 overall and 5-13 against MEC teams.
Frostburg State has an overall record of 19-10 and is 14-4 against conference foes.
Fairmont State is 14-14 overall and 10-8 against MEC opponents.

In Wednesday's sweep of Wheeling, senior pitcher/outfielder
Laura Thompson scored four runs in the series to pass
Jenna Witt (2017-21) to become the program leader for career runs scored with 142. Thompson has scored 29 times this season, which ranks her second on the team and places her with the fifth-most in the MEC. The Prince George, Virginia native scored three runs in game one against Wheeling. It is the second time this season that Thompson has scored three runs, with the first time coming in game two against Newberry in early February.
Freshman third baseman
Kylee Stacy has 30 runs scored this season and is the only Mountain Lion who has more runs than Thompson so far this season. Stacy is currently tied for third in the MEC for runs scored.
THREE STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT
Freshman pitcher/first baseman
Caitlyn Bauer is sitting at 96 strikeouts so far this season. She is in the program record books currently holding the sixth-most strikeouts in a single season. This weekend Bauer has the chance to not only reach 100 strikeouts in a season, but she can also tie/pass Thompson for the fifth-most in the program for strikeouts in a single-season with 97. The Lexington, N.C. native has won three of her last four outings. Including throwing 10 strikeouts in the win against Glenville State. The 96 strikeouts rank ninth in a career at CU.
FROSTBURG STATE/FAIRMONT STATE HISTORY
Frostburg State holds a 2-1 all-time series advantage over the Mountain Lions. All three games in the all-time series were played last season. In the 12-5 CU win, senior third baseman/outfielder

Concord matched up with Frostburg State in the first round of the 2021 MEC tournament, where the Bobcats won 6-4. In the game, S. Thompson and junior catcher/outfielder
Jolie Privett recorded an RBI each. In the circle, L. Thompson tossed seven strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Fairmont State holds a 28-22 all-time series advantage over Concord. Concord defeated the Fighting Falcons 1-0 last season. S. Thompson had a game-high two hits, including a double at the plate. L. Thompson was the winning pitcher in the contest, striking out nine batters in a complete game shutout.
