RECORDS
Concord is 20-12-1 overall this season, and in the MEC South the Mountain Lions are tied for second at 9-7.
WVWC sports records of 2-25 overall and 2-14 in the conference.

GOING THE DISTANCE
Against West Virginia State last weekend, sophomore pitchers Eddie Blake and Andrew Neff both tossed complete games. Neff, the reigning MEC Pitcher of the Week, struck out seven batters over seven innings as he allowed just two earned runs in his fifth complete game of the season. Blake was the hard-luck loser in a 3-2 WVSU win—it was his second complete game of the season. While Neff leads the way in the MEC in complete games, the Mountain Lions as a team have nine complete games. The last time CU had double-digit complete games as a staff was in 2017 with 12. Freshman pitcher Jacob Nester has a complete game on his resume this season and just missed a complete game in a 9-2 Concord win in game three versus West Virginia State, tossing six innings. Fifth-year senior pitcher Dan Nicholls also went the distance at Frostburg State two weeks ago. Since a 2.2-inning outing in his first start of the season, Neff has tossed at least six innings in his other seven starts.

RECORD WATCH
Sophomore infielder Zack Saryeldin leads Division II this season with 20 doubles—and he is just one of three players in program history with 20 or more doubles in a single season. Donovan Huffer collected 20 doubles in 2010 and Joey Miller has the program record with 21 doubles during the 2014 season. The Weston, Florida native had one double versus West Virginia Wesleyan last season. Fifth-year senior infielder Anthony Stehlin has drawn 22 walks this season, including seven against West Virginia State, and that ranks in the top five in the MEC. Stehlin is now one of seven players in program history with 90 or more walks for a career, and he's just five walks away from moving into the top five in program history. Stehlin currently has 91 career walks. Stehlin has scored 151 runs in his career, 11 shy of the top 10 in program history.

SEEING ORANGE
Concord has won eight straight games over West Virginia Wesleyan, dating back to the 2019 season. The Mountain Lions have outscored WVWC 78-28 in those contests. In last year's four-game road series, CU collected 12-3, 5-3, 6-1 and 13-3 wins. Offensively, Saryeldin was 7-for-15 in the series with six runs scored. Sophomore infielder Michael Dupont started the series with a three-hit game while junior infielder Juan Fortique collected back-to-back multi-hit games in the first two Concord wins. The Mountain Lions were strong on the mound too. Blake tossed his first career complete game by going seven innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out six. Neff turned in a quality start with seven strikeouts over six innings, allowing three runs. Although Stehlin has just 10 career hits in nine games versus WVWC, four have gone for extra bases. Last year, the Woodbridge, Virginia native was 5-for-13 at Wesleyan as he had two doubles, his second career multi-home run game and six RBI.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
The Bobcats avoided a sweep by Charleston last weekend, winning the series finale 8-6. Martin Radosevic is Wesleyan's leader in average (.396), home run (three) and RBI (17). Devin Johnson has put together a solid season with a .362 average to go with eight doubles and 15 RBI. Hunter Eplin and AJ Ventry have amassed a team-high 21 strikeouts this season. Eplin has been the winning pitcher in both WVWC wins—against UC and Alderson Broaddus. Geo Sostre had at least one hit in three of the four games against CU last season and drove in three runs.
