Complete All-Region Teams
NEW ORLEANS – Junior
Emily Wallace of the Concord University women's track & field team has been named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Atlantic Region Team for the recently concluded indoor season.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.
Wallace earned a spot on the all-region team for her performance in the mile run at the Mountain East Conference Championships. The Dry Fork, Virginia native was the conference champion in the event as she clocked a time of 5:04.34, setting a new school record. Her showing in the middle of February was also the third-fastest time in the Atlantic Region.
By winning the mile at the MEC Championships, Wallace became Concord's first indoor conference champion in any event.
After a two-week break, Wallace and the Mountain Lions turn their attention towards the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge Friday and Saturday to open the outdoor campaign.
