RANKED WINS
The Mountain Lions extended their winning streak to four games with an 86-83 win over 19th-ranked Fairmont State Tuesday night at the Carter Center. CU picked up its second win over a ranked opponent in the last three seasons, also defeating top-five ranked West Liberty during the 2021 campaign. The win over FSU snapped a five-game losing streak for Concord against the Fighting Falcons. The Maroon and Gray enter Saturday looking to extend their win streak to five games, something that hasn't been since the 2018-19 season when Concord ripped off seven straight wins from November 19-December 15. During its winning streak, the Mountain Lions are averaging 85.5 points per game.

SCORING SENSATIONS
Along with topping the 80-point mark in the last four wins, Concord also hit 80 points in a five-point defeat at undefeated West Virginia State November 22. Dating back to last season, the Mountain Lions have scored at least 80 points in 16 of their last 18 games, including a 92-87 overtime win at Frostburg State February 2. The trio of junior guard JJ Harper, senior forward Jevon Laidler and graduate guard Lual Daniel Rahama have led a balanced scoring attack in the last five games. Harper is averaging 15 points per game in the last five while Rahama (14.4) and Laidler (12.2) are also averaging double figures. Senior guard Ethan Heller is averaging 9.6 points per game in his last five contests. Harper is shooting a robust 52.1 percent (25-for-48) in the last five games while Laidler is just under 50 percent (48.9 percent / 23-for-47) in the last five.

HOT HANDS
The three-pointer was pivotal in CU's upset of Fairmont State. Entering the game, the most three-pointers Concord had made in a single game this season was seven, twice. The Maroon and Gray was only shooting 30.6 percent from three-point range and making five per game. Against FSU, though, the Mountain Lions got hot for a 12-of-18 showing from behind the arc. Heller and sophomore forward Amare Smith were largely responsible for the three-point display as the duo combined to go 8-of-10 from three-point range. Harper threw in a 3-for-5 effort from three-point distance. The 66.7 percent from three-point range was the highest for Concord in program history with at least 15 attempts.  Additionally, Heller went over 150 career three-point makes becoming the sixth active player in the MEC to achieve the milestone, joining the Fairmont State trio of Fonz Hale, Briggs Parris and Isaiah Sanders as well as the Charleston duo of Eddie Colbert and Keith Williams.

PASS IT AROUND
The Mountain Lions have set a season high in assists in back-to-back games. Against Notre Dame, CU registered 14 assists before adding 16 assists in the win over Fairmont State. Heller tied his season high with five assists versus Notre Dame, but against FSU the assists were more evenly distributed. Rahama tied his career with four assists. Fifth-year senior forward Da'Vion Moore also matched his career best with three assists while Heller added three. In all, seven of the nine players that saw time versus Fairmont State had at least one assist. Concord assisted on 15 of 32 made field goals in the win at Frostburg State last season.

WORKING OVERTIME
The overtime win at Frostburg State last winter was one of four overtime games that CU played in last season, going 2-2. The Mountain Lions rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to push the game into overtime on a jumper from Rahama with 12 seconds remaining. Junior guard Jordan Wooden was crucial in the win as he recorded a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds with half of his boards coming on the offensive end. The only time Rahama came off the bench last season was at Frostburg State, but the Newport News, Virginia native still scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Both teams shot 46.4 percent in the contest, but CU held Frostburg State to five three-pointers while making nine triples.

INSIDE OUT
