WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team lost a three-set match to Wheeling Friday night in a Mountain East Conference contest inside the McDonough Center.
The straight-set victory for Wheeling (13-6, 6-0) came 25-9, 25-11, 25-19.
WU started the match on an 11-3 run before Concord (6-15, 0-6 MEC) got within 14-8 after kills from sophomore outside hitter

Kenzee Chaffin. Wheeling pulled away for a first game victory.
After a tough second set, CU went back-and-forth with the Cardinals in the third set. The Mountain Lions received three straight kills from senior middle hitter
Amber Hall to get within 12-11 of WU. A kill from Chaffin and a pair of errors allowed Concord to trim the deficit to 20-19, but Wheeling finished the match on a 5-0 run.

Kyndra Pilant had a team-best six kills. Hall and sophomore outside hitter
Hannah Steele each had four kills. Chaffin threw in 15 assists and eight digs. Sophomore defensive specialist
Kaylee Spees notched 11 digs.
The Mountain Lions have a quick turnaround against West Liberty 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
