ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team concludes a season-long five-game homestand when it faces West Virginia Wesleyan 4:00 p.m. Sunday before traveling to Davis & Elkins 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in a pair of Mountain East Conference games.

SEASON HIGHS
Concord dropped a tight 4-3 contest to West Virginia Wesleyan earlier this season despite outscoring the Bobcats 3-1 in the second half. It continued a trend in which eight of the last 10 meetings have been decided by one goal. The three goals scored on September 14 were a season high for CU. Freshman midfielder

SEEKING REVENGE
After losing 2-1 at home last season against Wesleyan, Concord rebounded with a 3-1 win at WVWC. The Mountain Lions go for a season split for a second straight season. Like the game earlier this fall, the three goals scored in 2021 at Wesleyan were a season high. Senior midfielder

TAKING ON THE BEST
Concord squares off with Davis & Elkins Wednesday with the Senators being ranked number one in Division II. It will be the first time that the Mountain Lions face the number one team in the nation since 2016 when it faced Charleston twice with the Golden Eagles atop the national poll. SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
WVWC is coming off a 2-0 win over Alderson Broaddus Wednesday. Hunter Dierlam had a first-half hat trick for Wesleyan earlier this season against Concord. Sinasi Emre Deniz who leads the MEC in goals scored one of his nine goals versus CU. Bryant Sheffield has played seven games in goals while Logan Nelson has seen time in four games.

SCOUTING THE SENATORS
Davis & Elkins suffered its first loss of the season with a 4-0 setback at Notre Dame. Prior to Wednesday, the Senators had only surrendered two goals this season. Christhian Bosquez (seven) and Kevin Zapata (six) are both top five in the MEC in scoring. Davis & Elkins has outscored teams 29-2 in six home games.
