Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Concord Seals Second Place in MEC South with 5-0 Win at Glenville State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Powered by a hat trick from sophomore forward Nora Voisey, the Concord University women's soccer team won 5-0 against Glenville State in a Mountain East Conference game at Morris Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The win for the Mountain Lions (12-4-2, 10-4-2 MEC) clinches the number two seed in the MEC South Division, and means Concord will be playing a quarterfinal round game in the MEC Tournament at the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia 1:00 p.m. Tuesday. Official pairings will be announced once games conclude Sunday night.

Once graduate forward Leah Foster got CU on the board in the 17th minute on an assist from senior defender Zoe Belding, Voisey came off the bench to net the final three goals of the first half.

All the goals came in a six-minute span.

Senior forward Rachel Bell set up Voisey's first goal in the 39th minute while Foster tallied her third point of the afternoon with an assist on a Voisey score in the 43rd minute. With halftime approaching, Voisey received a pass from senior midfielder Courtney Smith and found the back of the net 20 seconds before the halftime horn.

Voisey becomes the third player this season with at least three goals in a game—sophomore forward Jayme Millard had a hat trick at West Virginia Wesleyan and Foster tallied four goals against West Liberty.

Junior midfielder Lauren DeLong capped the scoring for the Mountain Lions in the 86th minute with her first goal career goal.

Concord's back line and fifth-year senior goalkeeper Leah Marsh controlled the game as they held Glenville State (0-18, 0-16 MEC) without a shot in the first 60 minutes of the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Savannah Bates made two saves in 28 minutes in net.

Foster and Voisey each took five shots as Concord finished with 21 to GSU's three.
