INDIANAPOLIS – The Concord University women's soccer team was placed fifth in the second release of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Rankings that were announced Wednesday.
Last week, the teams under consideration were only announced in alphabetical order, but Wednesday the postseason picture became a bit clearer.
Nine teams were ranked in the order of West Chester, West Virginia State, Frostburg State, Bloomsburg, Concord, Gannon, Kutztown, Mercyhurst and Fairmont State.
The top five at-large teams along with two automatic bids—one each from the Mountain East Conference and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference make up the Atlantic Region field for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Concord's Wednesday tie against Notre Dame is not reflected in this week's release.
The Mountain Lions wrap up the regular season against Glenville State 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
