WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team took down Wheeling, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Bishop Schmitt Field.

On a counter in the 80th minute, the Mountain Lions were able to double their lead. In transition, Wheeling (6-8-1, 6-6-1 MEC) appeared to stop the initial attack, but Chinea-Pegler was in the right place to score for the fourth time this fall.

Tommy Smith had to withstand 26 shots from WU on the day as he stopped all 11 shots from the Cardinals that came on goal. Smith notched his second career shutout.

Wednesday marked the second straight season that the Mountain Lions have won on the road against Wheeling as it dealt a blow to Wheeling's hopes of hosting a first-round MEC Tournament game.
CU stays on the road to face Alderson Broaddus 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
