STATISTICAL INDIFFERENCES
Concord controlled nearly 60 percent of the possession in Sunday's game versus West Liberty and outshot the Hilltoppers 16-7, including 10-1 in the second half. However, the Mountain Lions dropped the game 3-1 to WLU. Concord had an even shot distribution as six different players took at least two shots in the game. Freshman defender Huw Emery, freshman midfielder Tomas Kelly and freshman midfielder Joel Walker all had two shots on goal. Kelly has a team-best 22 shots this season. Additionally, two of the three attempts for goal for Emery came on Sunday afternoon. Earlier this season versus Wheeling, shots were nearly even, 7-6, but Concord lost 4-1 on October 1.

ROAD TRIPPIN'
The Mountain Lions secured a 3-1 win last season on the road versus Wheeling. In fact, the road team has won the four games in the all-time series with the last home victory coming October 2019 by Concord at the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley. Two seasons ago, Concord won in double overtime against Wheeling, 1-0, as current men's soccer assistant coach Adrian Cabello assisted on the game-winning goal in the 106^th minute. Freshman defender Josh Hodgson accounted for CU's goal in the loss earlier this season to the Cardinals, his first career.

WU currently occupies fourth in the MEC standings, four points ahead of West Virginia Wesleyan. Diego Buenano, who scored against Concord earlier this season, has a team-best six goals. Richard Afolayanka is right behind with five goals. The Cardinals have given up the fourth-most goals in the MEC this season with 36, and have a -12 scoring differential.
