FROSTBURG, Md. – The Concord University volleyball team was defeated in three sets by Frostburg State Friday night in a Mountain East Conference match inside Bobcat Arena.

FSU (15-10, 3-6 MEC) won the contest by the scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-11.

Set 1
Concord (6-19, 0-9 MEC) hung tough in the opening set with the Bobcats as it trailed 10-9 after a kill from sophomore outside hitter
Hannah Steele and a Frostburg State error. However, FSU slowly pulled away as it finished the set on a 15-5 run.
Set 2
Much like the first game, the middle set was tight early on as Concord held a 6-5 lead, and trailed 10-9 after a Steele kill. But, eight of the next nine points belonged to Frostburg State as it opened up an 18-10 advantage. Concord closed to within 21-16 after a 4-0 run that included another Steele kill and a service ace from junior middle hitter
Kyndra Pilant. FSU was able to close out the set, though.
Set 3
Frostburg State put together a run late in the set as the Mountain Lions only trailed 12-7 nearing the midpoint of the game. CU was unable, however, to piece together a significant run to force a fourth game.
Match Stats
Steele had nine kills and nine digs. Senior middle hitter
Amber Hall added seven kills and hit .286. Freshman setter
Kenzee Chaffin tallied 19 assists. Pilant had a team-best 13 digs.

Concord concludes its road trip 7:00 p.m. Tuesday against West Virginia State.
