ATHENS, W.Va. – Dani Bloomingdale, a former four-year starter for the Concord University softball team, has been announced as the program's assistant coach.
Bloomingdale will be a first-year assistant coach with head coach
Alyssa Morris making her Concord debut in the spring of 2022. Morris took over the program earlier this month after a head coaching stint at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky.
An outfielder for the Mountain Lions from 2018-21, Bloomingdale appeared in 139 games with 123 starts as 96 starts came in left field. The Berryville, Virginia native was a career .261 hitter with her best season coming in 2019 when she batted .340 (34-for-100) as part of CU's 38-21 season.
Bloomingdale was also a catalyst for Concord making an appearance in the Mountain East Conference Championship Game in 2019, leading to her being named to the All-MEC Tournament Team.
With an undergraduate degree in hand from Concord, Bloomingdale will study in the institution's master of health promotion program.
