Glenville State sports the same conference record while going 16-17 overall in 2021.

MEC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
Concord needs to win two games over the weekend against Glenville State to clinch a playoff berth. If the teams finish the regular season tied, CU owns the tiebreaker over the Pioneers by virtue of Concord going 3-5 against Charleston and West Virginia State while GSC was 0-8.

THE SENIOR GAME
Prior to Sunday's doubleheader, head coach Kevin Garrett and the program will recognizes five players on Senior Day: pitcher Trent Abernathy, catcher Chance Davis, outfielder Jon Osteen, pitcher Dylan Whisman and infielder Trevor Wimmer.
Abernathy went over 200 career strikeouts against Charleston as he sits right on 200 career punchouts, fourth all-time at Concord. By going undefeated in conference play during the 2018 season, the Harrisonburg, Virginia native was named All-MEC Honorable Mention as a sophomore. Overall, Abernathy is 12-6 in 46 appearances at CU.
Davis, a three-year player for the Mountain Lions, has knocked in 16 runs in 42 career games with 36 starts behind the plate. As a freshman, the Max Meadows, Virginia native batted .283. This season, he has thrown out eight runners on the bases.
Osteen has appeared in nine games this season with six starts, and had a multi-game in a win over Davis & Elkins that helped CU clinch the series against the Senators. A transfer from former MEC member Urbana, Whisman has appeared in two games at Concord, both out of the bullpen.
Wimmer has seen action in 30 career games as a Mountain Lion. Earlier this season, the Tazewell, Virginia native had a career-best four RBI to go with two doubles in the game four win over D&E. Wimmer has seen time at both middle infield spots and on the corners in the outfield.

BEATING THE BEST
Concord became the first team in the MEC to defeat 14th nationally-ranked Charleston twice this season as it downed the Golden Eagles 10-7 and 10-9 in the first two games of the series before the two sides split the four-game series. It was the first wins over a nationally-ranked team for the Mountain Lions since defeating No. 4 Mount Olive to open the 2014 season. Reigning MEC Player of the Week and freshman infielder Zack Saryeldin went 8-for-12 in the series with three home runs and six RBI. Overall, Saryeldin was 12-for-19 last week. Junior infielder Evan Antonellis was a key cog in CU's success as he extended his hitting streak to 14 games that included a double in each of the final three games of the series. By saving two games on Saturday, junior infielder Anthony Stehlin moved into a tie for third in program history with seven saves.

OUT FIRST AND IN LATE
The Mountain Lions have scored in the first inning in 13 of their last 14 games dating back to the final two games of the West Virginia State series. CU is 9-4 in those games. Stehlin provided a home run in game one of the UC series to knot the score at 2-2. Saryelin led off game three with a home run as Concord jumped out 1-0. While scoring first in game one, the Mountain Lions used a three-run sixth inning to win 10-7 with the game being tied three different times. Freshman catcher Nick Funk had a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the sixth as part of the rally. Funk turned out to have a crucial hit in the 10-9 win over the Golden Eagles as well. The Moneta, Virginia native's two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning helped CU erase a 9-6 deficit as it went on to win. Saturday was the first time in over two years the Maroon and Gray rallied from a three-run deficit in the sixth inning or later to win an MEC game since the final game of the West Virginia Wesleyan series April 15, 2019. CU came back from 6-3 down to win 7-6 in nine innings.

A LOT OR A LITTLE
The Mountain Lions are 8-4 in their last three trips to Glenville State. In the last four wins for CU, it is averaging just under 11 runs per game including 12 and eight in two wins during the 2019 season. However, in its last four losses at GSC, Concord has only scored a total of 14 runs. The Maroon and Gray was 3-3 at Glenville State in 2020 before the cancellation of the season as they played six neutral-site games. Five of the six games against PSAC schools were decided by two runs or less. Freshman pitcher Andrew Neff picked up his first career win against Lock Haven March 1, 2020 in a game played at Sue Morris Park. Freshman infielder Michael Dupont and Funk each homered in games played at GSC in 2020.

GLENVILLE STATE AT A GLANCE
The Pioneers ended a nine-game losing streak by winning the final three games of a series at West Virginia Wesleyan. One of the most dangerous hitters in the MEC is Tre'Von Smith who is batting .358 this season with six home runs and 33 RBI. Smith has two career homers off Concord. Duane Englund leads GSC with seven home runs to go with 23 RBI. Both Diego Tamariz and Adam Riggleman average a strikeout per inning as the duo has combined for 84 strikeouts and six wins.
