Complete NCBWA All-American Teams

PEMBROKE, N.C. – Junior infielder Anthony Stehlin of the Concord University baseball team has been voted to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) All-American Team, the organization released Wednesday night.

Stehlin was tabbed to the NCBWA All-American Honorable Mention Team. Stehlin becomes the 11th All-American in program history, and the first since 2017 when Stehlin's predecessor at shortstop, Chad Frazier, was a Third Team All-American from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).

The Woodbridge, Virginia native has already been an All-Atlantic Region First Team selection from the NCBWA and D2CCA this postseason with the American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) still to release its All-Region squad.

Stehlin hit .408 this season with 44 runs scored, eight home runs, 30 RBI, nine doubles and a one triple. At shortstop, Stehlin fielded a nifty .961 with just five errors in 127 chances while helping the Mountain Lions turn nine double plays. He sported a 19-game hitting streak during the season which was the longest streak for a Concord player since Frazier's 20-game hitting streak in 2017. Additionally, Stehlin also reached base in 37 of 38 games played in 2021, and began the year by reaching in 36 consecutive games. Stehlin had 14 multi-hit games, and two multi-home run games this spring. He also had three games of four or more RBI, and came within a triple of the cycle in early April against Salem—instead tallying one of his two multi-homer contests.

The only other MEC player to the NCBWA All-American Team was West Virginia State first baseman Matt Harrison, also an Honorable Mention selection.

Missouri Southern's Zach Parish was the NCBWA National Pitcher of the Year. Hadyn McGeary of Colorado Mesa was the NCBWA Player of the Year while his coach, Chris Hanks was named NCBWA Coach of the Year.
