BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team rolled by Glenville State, 9-0, Tuesday night in Mountain East Conference action at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in a Mountain East Conference contest.
The Mountain Lions (5-1) scored three goals in the first half and doubled their total in the second half by finding the back of the net six times.
Senior midfielder
Yasmin Mosby recorded her first career hat trick as she was responsible for goals in the 30
th, 68
th and 76
th minutes of the game. Sophomore forward
Courtney Smith tallied CU's first goal of the game with a score in the 18
th minute before adding another in the 69
th minute.
Junior forward
Leah Foster netted her fifth and sixth goals of the season as she scored in the 27
th minute, and completed the scoring for Concord with a goal in the 86
th minute.
Senior midfielder
Elisha Robinson was the recipient of a corner kick from Mosby that directed off the head of Foster as Robinson scored in the 48
th minute. Sophomore defender
Zoe Belding notched her second goal of the season by finding the net in the 57
th minute.
Smith tallied three assists which tied a program record for most assists in a single game. Foster and Mosby each had two assists. Robinson added an assist on Mosby's first goal of the game.
In all, the Mountain Lions recorded 26 shots on goal and had 43 total shots for the game. Glenville State (1-5) was held to seven shots with junior goalkeeper
Leah Marsh making two saves to preserve a shutout.
Concord concludes the home portion of the regular season as it hosts West Virginia State 5:00 p.m. Friday in Beckley.
