ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team closes out the regular season as it hosts Davis & Elkins 1:00 p.m. Saturday for Senior Day at the CU Softball Field in two Mountain East Conference games.

CU enters the weekend with a mark of 15-19 overall and 15-13 in the MEC.
D&E has only contested MEC games as it comes into play with a mark of 11-17.
RUNNING OUT ON THE FIELD FOR THE SENIOR GAME
The Mountain Lions will honor seven seniors prior to Saturday's twinbill: outfielder

Darby Fitzpatrick, outfielder
Hanna Hylton, catcher/third baseman
Lauren Richardson, pitcher/outfielder
Cartney Schoolcraft, catcher/utility
Kaitlyn Stewart and utility
Jenna Witt.
Bloomingdale has appeared in 135 career games with 119 starts, and has batted .267 in her career. The Berryville, Virginia native was named to the All-MEC Tournament Team in 2019 for helping the Mountain Lions to the conference title game.
A fifth-year senior, Fitzpatrick has appeared in 176 career games, 10
th all-time in program history, with 151 starts. The Pocomoke City, Maryland native is a career .273 hitter and has pitched 327 innings in the Maroon and Gray. Fitzpatrick ranks seventh in career innings in program history and her 3.30 ERA is 10
th in program history.
A transfer from Patrick Henry Community College in Virginia, Hylton has appeared in eight games this season and recorded her first career RBI in a March 24 win over Bluefield State.
Similarly, Richardson transferred to CU from Randolph-Macon prior to the 2019 season. The Stafford, Virginia native has appeared in 57 games. This season, Richardson is second on the team with seven doubles and has three home runs.
Against Glenville State Wednesday, Schoolcraft became the program's all-time strikeout leader with 274 punchouts in her three seasons at Concord. The Winfield, West Virginia native transferred into the program from Kentucky Christian and immediately went 18-5 in 2019 and set the single-season program record with 165 strikeouts. Schoolcraft was named All-MEC Second Team two seasons ago.
Most of Stewart's 128 games have come at catcher as she has hit .274 or better over the last two seasons. This year, the North East, Maryland native has tied her career high with 17 RBI to go with a season-best four doubles.
The 2018 consensus All-American, 2019 MEC Player of the Year and all-time program hits leader with 253, Witt has played in 210 career games at Concord in five seasons. The Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native is top five in program history in nine offensive categories, including the program leader in hits, doubles and total bases. She has hit at least .400 in three consecutive seasons.
HEATING UP
The Mountain Lions pounded out 24 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Glenville State Wednesday afternoon as they notched 11 hits in game one before adding 13 more hits in the nightcap. It was the fourth time this season that Concord has had 20 or more hits in a doubleheader with the most being 32 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Davis & Elkins earlier this season when CU pounded out a single-game program record 22 hits in game two March 22. Laura Thompson has seen her average climb to a team-best .438 as she has gone 9-for-17 in the last five games.
DAZZLING IN THE CIRCLE
Schoolcraft and L. Thompson were stellar in the circle against Davis & Elkins. Schoolcraft tossed her second shutout of the season as she blanked Glenville State, 8-0, in five innings. It was the second shutout of the season for the Winfield, West Virginia native. Thompson, meanwhile, picked up her third straight win by tossing seven innings and allowing one unearned. It was the second time this season that Schoolcraft and Thompson have pitched back-to-back games where both have given up one run or fewer. Earlier this season, both pitched five innings at Davis & Elkins, giving up three runs apiece. Schoolcraft struck out six. Thompson notched five strikeouts.
DAVIS & ELKINS AT A GLANCE
Lilly Saucedo is one of the most dangerous hitters in the MEC as she is hitting .378 with six home runs and 23 RBI. Maddie Lavelle also has six home runs this season to go along with 22 RBI, but is batting just .266. Jenna Evans has won eight of the Senators' 11 games in the circle, but has an ERA of 5.58. Evans has 98 strikeouts in 94 innings. D&E is coming off a doubleheader split with Charleston Monday.
