RECORDS
CU enters the weekend with a mark of 4-16 while sporting a 3-13 MEC record.
The Bobcats have only played conference games this season as they are 3-11.

AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS
Junior infielder Anthony Stehlin and senior pitcher Trent Abernathy begin the weekend among the league leaders in their respective roles. Stehlin is third in the MEC in batting average at .446 as he has hit safely in all 17 games played this season. Stehlin's hitting streak is the longest for a CU player since Chad Frazier (2015-18) put together a 20-game hitting streak during the 2017 season. Stehlin has a hit in all five career games against WVWC. Meanwhile, Abernathy trails only Charleston's Logan Campbell for the league lead in strikeouts as the Harrisonburg, Virginia native has racked up 44 strikeouts in 32.2 innings. Abernathy needs 18 strikeouts to become the fourth player in program history to amass 200 career punch outs. Additionally, Abernathy has at least seven strikeouts in four of his five starts this season.

HAVE A DAY
Sophomore infielder Juan Fortique came through with a career-best four RBI in Concord's 9-3 game four win at West Virginia State as he also bagged two hits in the series finale. Fortique becomes the third CU player with at least four RBI in a game this season, joining Stehlin (vs. Fairmont State and Salem) and sophomore outfielder Richard Ortiz (vs. Fairmont State and Salem). Junior infielder Evan Antonellis matched his career high with three hits in game four at West Virginia State, including his third home run of the season. In the final two games of the WVSU series, Concord's 1-4 hitters of senior infielder Trevor Wimmer, Stehlin, Antonellis and Ortiz were a combined 11-for-28 (.392).

BREAKING OUT THE BROOMS
Concord swept a four-game series from West Virginia Wesleyan at Anderson Field during the 2019 season. Concord grabbed a 6-2 win in the opener before decisive 17-8 and 12-2 victories in the middle two games. The Mountain Lions used a walk-off 7-6 victory to sweep the series. Then-freshman catcher Chance Davis aided the 17-8 victory with his fourth career multi-hit game as well as a career-high three RBI. The 7-6 win was the second of two walk-off victories for the Mountain Lions during the 2019 campaign. Senior pitcher Spencer Hoyt got an inning of work in game two of the series as he struck out two. In 2018 at Wesleyan, the two sides split four games with no game being decided by fewer than four runs.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
Two of the three wins for the Bobcats have been of the walk-off variety in 2021. Both of the game-ending hits have been tallied by Adrian Delgado who doubled to beat Alderson Broaddus, 5-4, before hitting a two-run home run against Fairmont State to get a 6-4 win for WVWC. Delgado is batting .294 this season with two home runs and six RBI. Cade Leach leads Wesleyan in both average (.393) and RBI (eight). On the mound, Mitchell Courtney is coming off a hard luck loss to nationally-ranked Charleston as he fired six innings, allowing just two runs and striking out five in a 2-0 defeat. Hunter Eplin has an ERA of 4.31 in 13 innings.
