BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team lost in three sets to West Virginia Wesleyan, 25-13, 25-12, 25-18, Tuesday night in a Mountain East Conference match at the Rockefeller Center.
Concord is 0-3 this season while the Bobcats improve to 2-0.
Set 1
Wesleyan opened the match on a 9-1 run. The Mountain Lions were able to say within eight points of the Bobcats until they scored five straight points to stretch the lead to 21-8.
Set 2
Much like the first set, WVWC took a 9-2 lead early in the game. After a kill from junior outside hitter
Jessica King and a Bobcats' error, the Mountain Lions got back to within 13-8. Wesleyan, however, went on a 6-2 scoring run to open up a 19-10 lead on its way to a 2-0 advantage in the match.
Set 3
Once again, Wesleyan started fast by taking a 5-1 lead. Concord had answer as the Maroon and Gray scored five straight points to go up 6-5. From there, the teams traded points with neither side leading by more than two points. With CU down 18-17 after another King kill, the Bobcats finished the match on a 7-1 spurt.

Concord returns to the Carter Center to face Charleston 7:00 p.m. Friday.
