RECORDS

Davis & Elkins enters the week at 6-18 overall and is 4-14 against the MEC.

West Virginia Wesleyan sports a mark of 9-15 and is 8-10 in the conference.

SENIOR DUO
Prior to Saturday's game, senior guards Trey Brisco and Martin Kelly Jr. will be honored at the Carter Center for their careers in the Maroon and Gray. A fifth-year senior in the program, Brisco is three games away from being the 41st player in program history with 100 games played. Additionally, as a fifth-year senior, Brisco was a member of Concord's 2016 MEC Tournament Championship team during his redshirt season. Known as a defensive stopper for the Mountain Lions, Brisco needs one more three-pointer to become the 25th player in program history with 100 career makes from beyond the arc. Brisco's defense has been instrumental throughout his career, but none may be more memorable than holding Charleston's Drew Rackley to 3-of-16 shooting in the MEC Quarterfinals last season that allowed CU to advance in the postseason tournament. Kelly Jr. has suited up for the Mountain Lions in just one season, but has left his mark on the program. He is the team leader in double-doubles this season with three as he averages 11.4 points and a team-best 5.8 rebounds per contest. The Washington, D.C. native has scored double figures in 17 of 24 games this season, including a career-best 25 points at West Virginia State.

PIVOTAL GAME
With just four games left in the MEC regular season, Concord holds a one-game lead over Davis & Elkins and Urbana for the final tournament spot as it starts the week 10th. As it stands, the Mountain Lions hold the tiebreaker over both teams, and will be seeking a season sweep of the Senators. Earlier this season, CU defeated Davis & Elkins at home, 80-63. In thzg contest, the Maroon and Gray limited D&E to 39.7 percent shooting—one of five times this season holding an opponent below 40 percent shooting. In particular, Brisco held the Senators' Donte Doleman, the MEC's sixth-leading scorer to 3-for-13 shooting. Offensively, Brisco scored a game-best 18 points while Kelly Jr. pitched in 15 points and eight rebounds.

A PERFECT NIGHT
CU picked up a crucial 101-75 win over Wheeling during the middle of the week as it topped 100 points for the first time this season. Junior forward David Bea Mulumba hit on all eight of his shots from the field including hitting 4-of-4 from three-point range on his way to a second straight 20-point performance. Sophomore guard Brandon Kennedy was nearly perfect as well as he made 6-of-8 shots from the field and had 16 points in the victory. As a team, the Mountain Lions were 67.3 percent (37-for-55) from the floor which ties the fourth-highest shooting percentage in an MEC game in league history, also set by CU in November 2018 versus Urbana.

LENDING A HAND
In the win over Wheeling, Concord had six players finish in double figures. Besides Kennedy and Mulumba, freshman guard Ethan Heller notched his third career 20-point game by finishing with 20 points. Kelly Jr. had 14 points, Brisco tallied 11 points and junior guard/forward Malik Johnson tossed in 10 points. It was the first time the Mountain Lions had six players in double figures since February 2016 at West Liberty. Additionally, CU handed out a season-high 24 assists in the win over Wheeling, including a career-best nine from Brisco. Even in the loss at West Liberty on Saturday, Concord assisted on nearly half its made field goals (11 assists on 24 made shots). Since the start of 2020, the Mountain Lions are assisting on 55.8 percent of their shots (173 assists on 310 field goals).

NIP AND TUCK
Earlier this season, the Mountain Lions fell in overtime, 83-80, to West Virginia Wesleyan—one of 10 games for Concord that's been decided by five points or less. In fact, four of the last nine meetings between CU and Wesleyan have been decided by five points or less including three games decided by a single point. The most recent game also had five ties and 14 lead changes. In the road contest, Johnson had his lone double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Kennedy matched his season best with 16 points in his first career start.

In the game at the Carter Center, Myles Monroe and Erkam Kiris each had 22 points to pace the Davis & Elkins scoring. Kiris averages 15.0 points per game while Monroe scores 13.3 points per contest. The Senators have lost six straight games, including a buzzer-beater loss to Urbana on February 5. Five of the six wins for D&E have come at the McDonnell Center.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE

For the season, Vicentic is averaging 17.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest. Lee scores 13.0 points per game while Luka Petrovic (12.7) and Ross Young (11.0) also average double digits. Wesleyan sports the third-best rebounding margin in the MEC (+3.7). The Bobcats have won more away games (six), than they have at home (three).
