ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Concord University volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Seawolf Invite hosted by Alaska-Anchorage Friday.
The Mountain Lions fell to UC San Diego before dropping a straight sets match to the host.
Match 1: UC San Diego (25-8, 25-17, 25-12)
Concord had just eight less kills than UCSD, but the Tritons hit over .300 in the match including .538 in the first set to gain control of the match.
After UC San Diego won the first set, the Mountain Lions and UCSD went back-and-forth in the second game before a 5-0 run from the Tritons allowed them to open up a 15-10 lead. In the third set, UC San Diego opened up a 7-2 advantage to start on its way to a three-set victory.

Jenna Mounts recorded nine assists in the contest.
Freshman middle hitter
Amber Hall and sophomore middle hitter
Sheridan Herron each had four kills for the Maroon and Gray.
Match 2: Alaska-Anchorage 3 – Concord 0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-12)
UAA came out swinging hard, recording a hitting percentage of .591 in the first set on its way to a three-game win over the Mountain Lions.
Sophomore right side
Camryn Huber paced Concord with four kills in the second match of the day.
Mounts and sophomore setter
Imani Rodgers each had five assists.
The Mountain Lions return to the court in Alaska at 1:00 p.m. eastern (9:00 a.m. local time) Saturday to face Regis. The second match of the day will be against Biola at 9:00 p.m. eastern.
