CHARLOTTE – The Concord University men's cross country team finished 15
th at the Queens City Invite at McAlpine Park Friday night.
The Mountain Lions were ninth among Division II teams and scored better than six Division I teams with 437 points.
Sophomore
Cedric Drennen was the top finisher for CU as he crossed in 32
nd with a time of 26:18. Junior
Samuel Thomas was Concord's number two runner as he crossed in 26:54 and placed 60
th.
Freshman Nate Leicher was in Concord's top three as he clocked a time of 27:32 as he finished 91
st. Junior
Samuel Haynes came through in 123
rd while running 28:20. Rounding out the scoring runners for the Mountain Lions was freshman
Jacob Lindsay who ran 29:27 while finishing 154
th.
Junior
Andrew Barbera (29:30), freshman
Alex Watty (29:32) and senior
Cooper Brady (29:53) also broke 30 minutes on the 8,000-meter course.
Concord will race at the Paul Short Run October 5.
