Concord Outlasts Ohio Valley in Five-Set Win

ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team fought off Ohio Valley for a five-set win Thursday at the Carter Center to open up the Concord Classic.

CU (1-4) outlasted the Fighting Scot (2-1) in the first set to take the game, 27-25. However, OVU won the second and third games, 25-11 and 25-18, to open up a 2-1 lead in the match.

Facing elimination, Concord rallied back to win the fourth set 25-22, forcing a decisive fifth set. The Maroon and Gray used the fourth-game victory momentum to score the first five points of the fifth game.
