RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are 19-14 overall and 7-7 against MEC foes.

West Liberty is 18-13 overall and 10-4 in the MEC.

The Cardinals carry a 6-26 overall record and are 3-11 in the MEC.

LATE-INNING SUCCESS
In the 2018 season, the Mountain Lions went 1-1 with both the Hilltoppers and the Cardinals as the win over West Liberty came in the ninth inning on a walk-off home run by senior outfielder Abby Beatty. In Concord's 6-2 win over Wheeling Jesuit last season, the Mountain Lions scored four runs in the sixth inning as it turned a slim 2-1 advantage into a 6-1 lead. Junior utility Amber Stokes accounted for two of the runs with a double. It was one of five multi-RBI games for Stokes last season. While Beatty's home run helped the Mountain Lions defeat the Hilltoppers in extra innings, the win may not have been possible without a four-run sixth inning by the Mountain Lions as it erased a 4-0 deficit. Included in the rally was the lone home run of 2018 for senior catcher/first baseman Lauren Blunt.

WORKING OVERTIME
Speaking of playing extra innings, the Mountain Lions were locked up in an extra-inning contest in Wednesday's loss to UVa.-Wise. CU played 12 innings with the Cavaliers before falling 8-5 in 12 innings. Junior pitcher/outfielder Darby Fitzpatrick threw a career-high 12 innings and 162 pitches against UVa.-Wise. Fitzpatrick is the first pitcher to throw 10 or more innings from Concord since joining the Mountain East prior to the 2014 season. And the 12-inning contest was the first game for Concord that went 10 or more inning since a March 4, 2016 against Wayne State.

LEADING THE PACK
Junior utility Jenna Witt and freshman pitcher/outfielder Laura Thompson start the weekend ranked first and second in the MEC in hits as the duo has 47 and 42, respectively. Recently, Witt received the MEC Player of the Week after her performance at West Virginia State with three RBI and three home runs. Thompson leads the Mountain East Conference with an on base percentage of .500 as well as runs scored with a high of 36. Thompson has 11 more runs than West Virginia State's Kayleigh Thompson who is second in the league with 25 runs scored. The Prince George, Virginia native is coming off a doubleheader on Wednesday where she hit .700 (7-for-10) with four runs scored. In the 12-inning game, Thompson recorded her first career four-hit game.

FINAL LAP
In her last season in the Maroon and Gray, senior utility Kylie Kent is having a career season. The Roanoke, Virginia native starts the weekend batting .347 which is nearly 100 points higher than her career average of .251. On Wednesday, Kent blasted her first career home run against UVa.-Wise. Additionally, Kent has already surpassed her season career best in RBI with 18 in 2018. The previous mark for her was 15 during the 2016 campaign. Last season, Kent had her season cut to 15 games due to injury.

WEST LIBERTY AT A GLANCE
Makenzie Amend has an ERA of 2.58 with a total of 92 strikeouts for the season along with seven shutouts. Under third year head coach, Herb Minch, West Liberty continues to make strides in total wins. In 2016, the Hilltoppers had a season record of 13-41 overall and 6-26 in the Mountain East Conference. This season, West Liberty has shown improvement with its current record. Kat Donzell is second in the conference in home runs with nine.

WHEELING JESUIT AT A GLANCE
Courtney Rogers leads the league with 29 RBI and is third in home runs with eight. A season ago, the Cardinals played in the MEC Championship game where they fell to West Virginia State. Kelsey Barron has four of the six WJU wins in the circle as she has pitched 66.1 innings and has an ERA of 4.33.
