ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University softball team faces Glenville State 2:00 p.m. Saturday and West Virginia Wesleyan 2:00 p.m. Sunday for the two final Mountain East Conference doubleheaders of the the regular season.

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are leading seventh in the region with a record of 30-17 overall and 18-10 MEC. Concord is seventh in the second release of the Atlantic Regional Rankings.
Glenville State Pioneers are 12-32 overall and 5-21 in the Mountain East.
West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats are 16-22 overall, 9-15 MEC.
SINGLE SEASON RECORDS
Sophomore pitcher
Cartney Schoolcraft may make her mark soon as the leader for strikeouts recorded within a single season. Over her 113.1 innings pitched, Schoolcraft has struck out batters 129 times. She is currently second for the pitching record book for a single season, passing Tamara Smith, who had 125 strikeouts during the 2010 season, with nine strikeouts during Monday's doubleheader. With just 10 more strikeouts this season, Schoolcraft would pass Ashley Jackson and her 138 strikeouts during the 2006 season for first in a single season. In addition to her upcoming record for strikeouts on the season, Schoolcraft is currently ranked number one overall for her ERA at Concord with her current ERA being 2.35. This is just above
Allie Reid's overall ERA of 2.42 from her time at Concord from 2014-2017. Additionally, freshman pitcher/outfield
Laura Thompson is tied for second in total runs scored for a single season in the record book with 50 runs. To reach first, she must score six more before the end of the season to pass current leader from 2014,
Kristen Rose. Thompson has scored seven runs in the last four games and has at least one run scored in eight of the last 12 games.
30 FOR 30
Concord etched its 30
th win Monday with the sweep of Notre Dame. The school record for most wins per season is 34 total wins in 2015. Over the last five years, Concord has won at least 30 games four times beginning in 2014. The Mountain Lions did not have a single 30-win season prior to 2014. So far, Concord has 222 RBI for the 2019 season, while opponents have 66 less totaling 156 RBI against CU. The 222 runs driven in are the first time a Mountain Lion team has had more than 200 RBI since the 2016's team 251. Junior utility
Jenna Witt and freshman utility both lead Concord with a total of 35 RBI for the season. Following just behind are teammates senior utility
Kylie Kent with 28 and
Laura Thompson with 22. There are six other teammates on the team with RBI in the double figures.S. Thompson and Witt rank in a tie for fourth in the MEC in RBI.
WINNING WEEKEND
When Concord hosted Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan March 23-24, CU went 3-1 with a sweep over Glenville State. Schoolcraft was responsible for two wins and a save during the weeeknd as she allowed one earned run over 12.1 innings while striking out 12. Kent, sophomore catcher/third baseman
Lauren Richardson and Witt each had multi-RBI contest against the Pioneers.
GLENVILLE STATE AT A GLANCE
Freshman Karra Smith is ranked the top player at Glenville State statistically with 29 runs scored, 47 hits, and 30 RBI. In the MEC, Smith is placed in the top ten for her batting average of .379 as well as her slugging percentage of .685.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
Kennedy Cowart leads the Bobcats with her batting average of .417 and a slugging percentage of .548. She also has 48 hits and 20 RBI for the season as a sophomore.
Cartney Schoolcraft was able to strike out Wesleyan seven times during the second game when the teams previously met.
