GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University baseball team hung tough with Millersville through seven innings, but the Marauders scored 16 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Concord fell 21-5 in its season opener at the MEC-PSAC Mixer Thursday night at the Sue Morris Complex.
Junior catcher
Jakob Divers opened the scoring with a two-out, two-run single for the Mountain Lions (0-1) in the first inning that plated senior catcher

Nathan Neff to square the contest at 3-3.
After the Marauders plated two runs in the fifth inning to go back on top 5-3, Concord put together a rally in the top of the sixth that saw Divers lead off the inning with a double before scoring on Neff's sacrifice fly.
Sophomore pitcher
Spencer Hoyt relieved starter and senior pitcher
Will Guay in the sixth and proceeded to strike out two batters. In the seventh, junior pitcher
Trent Abernathy induced an inning-ending double play to keep Millersville off the board and keep CU within 5-4.
After loading the bases with two outs in the top of the eighth, the Mountain Lions were able to take advantage.
The Marauders plated 16 runs in the bottom of the frame to take command of the contest.
Sophomore infielder
