SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Down by as much as 17 points in the third quarter, the Concord University women's basketball team rallied past Notre Dame, 85-76, Thursday night in Mountain East Conference action at Murphy Gymnasium.
Down 41-32 at halftime, the Mountain Lions (20-5, 15-4 MEC) watched NDC (13-12, 10-9 MEC) start the third quarter on an 8-0 run to open up a lead of 49-32. But in the final 8:23 of the third quarter, CU outscored the Falcons 22-9 to trail by just four points, 58-54, heading to the fourth quarter.

The momentum for Concord carried over to the fourth quarter as the Mountain Lions scored the first five points that included two foul shots from junior forward
Madison May and a three-point play from Fitzwater. With CU up 64-60, Notre Dame came back to tie the game at 67-67 and again at 69-69. However, a three-pointer from Boothe at the 3:29 mark of the fourth quarter put CU ahead for good.
The second-half spurt from the Mountain Lions wasn't there only elongated scoring run of the night. Down 10-2 in the first quarter, the Maroon and Gray ran off a 20-8 rally into the second quarter to take a 22-18 lead at the 6:53 mark of the second quarter.
For a second straight game, CU got great scoring balance with five players finishing in double figures. Fitzwater tallied 19 points and eight rebounds. Pool followed closely behind with 18 points as she sank four three-pointers.
On the strength of a 3-for-3 effort from three-point range, Boothe netted 15 points. May added 10 of her 12 points in the fourth quarter as she also had six rebounds and a career-best eight assists.

Concord concludes its four-game road trip at Urbana 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
