ELKINS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team had its three-match win streak snapped at Davis & Elkins as the Senators picked up a sweep (25-18, 25-17, 25-14) Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action at the McConnell Center.

The Mountain Lions (9-16, 4-7 MEC) were held to a .048 hitting percentage. In the first two sets, CU held Davis & Elkins (15-7, 8-3 MEC) to under .200 hitting.

Concord jumped out a 6-4 lead in the first game, but was unable to hang onto the lead as the Senators took a 12-10 advantage. From there, CU could not tie the set before D&E went up 19-13.

Tied at 7-7 in the second game after a solo block by sophomore middle hitter Sheridan Herron, Concord watched the Senators go on an 11-0 run to go up 2-0 in the match. Locked up at 7-7 in the third game after a kill from freshman outside hitter Hailey Buchanan, Concord was able to answer Davis & Elkins' min-run that saw it go up 11-7. The closest CU got for the remainder of the match was three points.

Buchanan, freshman middle hitter Amber Hall and sophomore outside hitter Camryn Huber all had five kills.

Senior setter Jenna Mounts tallied 15 assists while junior defensive specialist Lindsay Maddox added 15 digs.

The Mountain Lions return to the Carter Center for an MEC match against West Virginia State 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
