Concord Falls to Charleston

ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team lost a Mountain East Conference game to Charleston 6-0 Wednesday afternoon at Anderson Field.

UC (8-2, 8-0 MEC) tallied two goals in the first half and four more in the second half, including two goals in 61 seconds to begin the second stanza of play.

The Mountain Lions (2-4-2, 1-4-2 MEC) got away three shots in the contest as senior midfielder Maxime Ramioulle just missed an opportunity to score in the 42nd minute as his shot was turned aside by Charleston goalkeeper Alvaro Dean, who played a nice diving play to his left.

Junior defender Bruno Baptista and sophomore midfielder Beau Simpson each had shots for CU.

Junior goalkeeper Kyle Brown tied his season high with nine saves in the contest.

Concord heads on the road for an MEC matchup against Wheeling 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
