BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team played to a 3-3 tie against Urbana Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Paul Cline Memorial Complex.
The Mountain Lions (2-3-2, 1-3-2 MEC) found themselves down 2-0 after two goals in the first 25 minutes by Urbana (3-3-3, 3-2-2 MEC).
CU was able to get a goal before halftime as sophomore forward
Daniel Culverwell found the back of the net for the first time this season in the 33
rd minute.
The next goal in the game also belonged to Concord as senior midfielder
Courtney Skerritt received a lateral pass from freshman forward
Matt Shelor near the top of the box and fired a shot past Urbana goalkeeper Jakob Henriksen to tie the game 2-2 in the 64

Ten minutes after Skerritt's first goal, Urbana answered with a goal to lead again, 3-2. However, the Mountain Lions answered when senior midfielder
Maxime Ramioulle chipped a shot over the outstretched Henriksen to tie the game in the 77

Both Culverwell and Shelor had shots turned aside by Henriksen in the final 10 minutes. The Concord defense also made a big stand in the final five minutes of the contest. After junior goalkeeper
Kyle Brown initially cleared away a corner, just a few seconds later CU was able to clear a shot away before it went over the goal line.
An offside by Concord wiped off a potential game-winning goal in the 92

UU had six shots in overtime, but the Mountain Lions were able to keep the Blue Knights off the board for the draw.
Sunday's contest had 41 shots with Urbana taking 26, but Concord only trailed 12-9 in shots on goal.
Ramioulle had five shots while Culverwell added three off the bench. Shelor tallied all three assists for Concord, becoming the second CU player with multiple assists in the same game this season. Skerritt had two assists in Concord's win at West Liberty.
