WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University women's cross country team was sixth at the Mountain East Conference Championship Saturday morning at Oglebay Resort's Crispin Golf Course.
Davis & Elkins tallied 25 points to win the team championship. The Senators' Claire Otte was the individual champion, but her teammate Svea Timm won both MEC Runner and Freshman of the Year.
Concord posted 164 points to finish three points ahead of Fairmont State.
Freshman
Gretchen Mills grabbed the final spot on the All-MEC Second Team as she finished 20
th in a time of 26:14 on the 6,000-meter course.
Junior
Kate Golinsky came through in 27:34 to claim 31
st while senior
Aidan Payton was two second behind in 32
nd. Sophomore
Kyla Marshall finished 38
th with a time of 28:45. Junior
Lindsey Cummings just missed going under 30 minutes as her time of 30:01 placed her 43
rd.

Josea Smith crossed in 31:26 to finish 51
st while freshman
Maggie Thompson rounded out the Concord lineup with a time of 31:31, finishing 52
nd.
Davis & Elkins head coach Jason Pyles was the MEC Coach of the Year.
The Mountain Lions are back in action in two weeks when they compete at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship at Lock Haven November 9.
