FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team dropped a straight sets match to Fairmont State Friday night inside Joe Retton Arena in Mountain East Conference action as FSU won 25-14, 25-17, 25-20.
After dropping the first set by 11 points, Concord (6-15, 2-6 MEC) came out strong scoring the first five points of the second game as sophomore middle hitter
Sheridan Herron provided a kill and senior setter
Jenna Mounts added a service ace. FSU (10-12, 3-4 MEC), though used an 8-3 run to even the set.
From there, neither team led by more than two points until the Fighting Falcons opened up a 17-14 lead. Fairmont State finished the set on another 8-3 run to win by eight points.
Concord answered FSU's first three points of the third game with three straight points on kills by junior right side

Camryn Huber. The Fighting Falcons went on an 11-6 run to go up 11-6. The Mountain Lions got within three points twice, 14-11 and 15-12, on kills from Huber and freshman middle hitter
Amber Hall. But, CU was unable to get any closer in the set.
Junior defensive specialist
Lindsay Maddox finished with a match-best 20 digs. Mounts added 13 assists. Huber tallied eight kills
CU continues its road trip against Frostburg State 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
