Concord Finishes 13th at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Concord University women's cross country team walked away with a 13th-place showing Saturday afternoon at the Paul Short Run on the campus of Lehigh University.

Concord put three runners in the top 100 as the field featured over 350 runners. The Mountain Lions had 417 team points.

Senior Bailey Knowles was the top athlete for CU as she crossed in 37th overall, stopping the clock at 24:26 for the 6,000-meter course. Fellow senior Karleigh Thompson followed in 62nd place with a time of 25:01.

Junior Aidan Payton rounded out the runners in the top 100 for the Mountain Lions as she clocked a time of 25:12, good enough for 71st. The final two scoring runners for Concord were seniors Kenna Knowles (118th) and Kaylin Kessinger (129th). The duo ran 25:45 and 25:52, respectively.

Senior Taylor Hamm came through in 26:13 while senior Megan Stemple had a showing of 26:41.

CU beat out fellow Mountain East Conference school Charleston as the Golden Eagles were 24th with 590 points.

The Mountain Lions will host their annual home meet Friday at Pipestem State Park. The women's race starts at 3:00 p.m. with the men's race to follow at 3:40 p.m.
