Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Concord Downs West Liberty, 3-0

BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team picked up a 3-0 win over West Liberty Sunday afternoon at the Cline Memorial Complex in Mountain East Conference action.

The game had to be moved after field conditions at Anderson Field in Athens became too poor to play on Saturday night.

CU (2-4-1, 2-2-1 MEC) staked out to a 2-0 first half lead after a West Liberty (2-5, 2-4 MEC) turnover in the 15th minute that ended up with sophomore midfielder Maxime Ramioulle just outside the 18-yard box on the defensive end for the Hilltoppers. Ramioulle dribbled to an open area in the middle of the penalty and found his third goal of the season.

In the 42nd minute of the contest, Ramioulle drew a foul on the Hilltoppers in the penalty area. Junior defender Josh Sheffield stepped up and buried the penalty kick in the bottom right of the net to stretch out the CU lead to 2-0.

The Mountain Lions added an insurance goal early in the second half as junior midfielder Courtney Skerritt played a ball from the right wing to the middle of the field in the open field to sophomore midfielder Moulay Hassani who tallied his first goal of the season in the 50th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Ching Lokus Au and the CU defense kept West Liberty over the final 40 minutes of the game as he picked up his first shutout of the season.  Lokus made seven saves in the contest.

Hassani and Ramioulle each had five shots on the afternoon. The duo and Skerritt accounted for six of Concord's 10 shots on goal in the game.

The Mountain Lions take to the road to face nationally-ranked Charleston 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
