CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team was edged by the University of Charleston, 1-0, Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference game at Schoenbaum Stadium.
The game's lone goal came in the 37
th minute as David Achaerandio scored for UC (9-0-1, 8-0 MEC). The Golden Eagles came into the contest ranked seventh in the nation.
Concord (2-5-1, 2-3-1 MEC) hung tough as sophomore goalkeeper
Kyle Brown made seven saves to keep the deficit at 1-0.

Even though Wednesday was a defeat for CU, it limited Charleston who had outscored its previous seven MEC opponents by a score of 17-2.
The Mountain Lions return to Anderson Field as they welcome Notre Dame 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
