ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team will step out of Mountain East Conference play when it faces Bluefield State 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Ned Shott Gymnasium in a Mercer County clash.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord pushed Charleston to four set Tuesday night at home before the Golden Eagles came away with the four-set win.
Four of the last five losses for the Mountain Lions have come in four sets, five sets, four sets and again in four sets .
Senior outside hitter
Ellie Lawrence paced Concord with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .300. It was the fourth time this season Lawrence has tallied double-digit kills in a single match. Her hitting percentage represented the third highest of the season.
Senior middle hitter
Brooke Heck finished with six kills versus Charleston, inching her closer to 1,100 career kills. The Huntington, West Virginia native needs 12 kills to reach 1,000, and 31 kills would move her into third place on the all-time list at CU.
Freshman right side
Camryn Huber racked up six kills and eight total blocks in the Charleston match The Angier, North Carolina native has at least five or more total blocks in four of her last five matches. Her eight total blocks versus UC set a new career high.
Additionally, Huber ranks seventh in the MEC in blocks per set with 0.84.
Senior outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus is closing in on a pair of milestones in her career. The Tinley Park, Illinois native needs 12 digs to reach 1,000 for her career. Furthermore, Pranckus needs 101 kills to reach 1,000 during her time at Concord. When Pranckus reaches the marks, she will be the only player in program history with 1,000 or more kills and 1,000 or more digs.
Even though both Concord and Bluefield State participated in the Concord Classic earlier in the month, the squads did not face each other.
The current group of Mountain Lions have only playedBluefield State twice in their careers—once each in 2017 and 2016.
Last season, Concord swept by BSC as Heck recorded nine kills in 17 attempts without an error.
During the 2016 season, the two squads played a five-set match in late October in which CU pulled out a victory. Pranckus notched 14 kills in the match.
Junior setter
Jenna Mounts has 31 career assists against the Blues including a 21 during the 2016 contest.
BLUEFIELD STATE AT A GLANCE
The Blues have yet to win a set this season in their eight defeats.
At the Concord Classic, BSC fell to Gannon, WVU Tech, King and UVa.-Wise.
Dellanna Carlson has 26 assists this season.
