Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Concord Defeated by Salem

BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team lost 5-1 to Salem in a non-conference game at the Cline Memorial Complex Saturday afternoon.

Salem (3-4) jumped out early with two goals in the first 10 minutes to take a 2-0 lead on Concord (1-3-1). However, the Mountain Lions would get a score closer in the 29thminute.

Freshman defender Bruno Baptista curled a free kick in the upper left corner of the goal for his first collegiate score to cut the Tigers' lead to 2-1.

CU was only able to get one shot on goal—sophomore midfielder Maxime Ramioulle's attempt in the 35thminute--before Salem tallied its third goal in the 76thminute. The Tigers added two more goals in the final 14 minutes of the contest for the final margin of victory.

Just 10 days after making a career-best nine saves versus Urbana, sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Brown had 10 saves on Saturday.

Baptista had two shots on goal while Ramioulle and sophomore defender Josh Sheffield each had one shot on goal.

Concord faces West Virginia Wesleyan on the road 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
