ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team will play a non-conference contest with Salem University 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cline Memorial Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.Â

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are 3-0-1 on the season after opening up Mountain East Conference play with a 4-0 win over Shepherd.Â

Salem is 2-1 on the season with wins over Lincoln (Pa.) and West Liberty.Â

PEDIATRIC CANCER AWARENESS GAME
The women's soccer program has made Saturday's contest its Pediatric Cancer Awareness game. Concord is encouraging all fans to wear yellow. Fans are also encouraged to donate a new, unused teddy bear or board game with all donations going directly to the pediatric wing at Princeton Community Hospital.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Through four games this season, CU is outscoring its opponents by a score of 14-1 with the only goal allowed by the Mountain Lions coming in a 1-1 tie against Wingate.Â

Earlier this week, freshman defender
Leigh Wightman picked up MEC Defensive Player of the Week honors as she assisted on two goals for the Mountain Lions in their 4-0 win over Shepherd.Â

Through four games, Wightman and sophomore midfielder
Sarah Hill are tied for the conference lead in assists as each have two assists.Â

Meanwhile, freshman forward
Leah Foster leads the MEC in goals with four. Senior forward
Pilar Elias is tied for second in the league in goals with three.Â
Â
With a goal against Wingate last week, Elias is now tied for eighth on the all-time goal scoring list at Concord with 18.

Even though, Elias and Foster are among the best scorers in the MEC, Concord has eight different players that have scored at least one goal this season. Against Felician and Shepherd in which CU tallied eight total goals, six different players scored.

Kaitlyn Kerrigan got her first collegiate goal versus Felician while fellow freshman forward
Maggie Hall accomplished the same feat a week later at Shepherd.

While the Mountain Lions have been scoring at a rapid rate—14 goals in four games—they have also been getting lockdown defense from senior
Joanna Aiello, sophomore
Morgan Carmichael and
Alyssa Mahar and Wightman along with sophomore goalkeeper
Katie Maher.

Concord is tied for 13
th nationally in goals against average, .237, and is tied for first in the Atlantic Region with West Chester.
Â
Before allowing her only goal of the season at Wingate, Maher started 2018 with a scoreless minutes streak of 268.

SALEM AT A GLANCE
Two of the three games Salem has been involved in have been one-goal games—a 1-0 loss to Lincoln Memorial and a 3-2 win over West Liberty.

The Tigers defeated Lincoln 9-1.
