BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team lost in three sets to West Virginia Wesleyan Friday night, 25-19, 25-18, 25-12, in Mountain East Conference play at the Rockefeller Center.
The first set was tight throughout until the Bobcats (1-9, 1-0 MEC) scored five straight points to grab a 17-12 edge in the game. CU (2-13, 0-1 MEC) was unable to trim the lead under four for the remainder of the first set.
After a kill from senior outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus tied the second game at 10-10, Wesleyan ran off eight of the next nine points to take an 18-11 lead. Concord fought back with a 4-1 run that included a service ace from senior middle hitter
Brooke Heck and a kill from senior outside hitter
Ellie Lawrence. However, WVWC closed out the second game, winning by seven points.
The Bobcats opened up a 15-10 lead in the third game and held Concord to two points over the remainder of the set as the Mountain Lions the third set.

Camryn Huber had a team-high six kills and added four blocks in the match.
Junior setter
Jenna Mounts recorded 15 assists and 10 digs in the match while sophomore libero
Lindsay Maddox tied her season high with 20 digs.
The Mountain Lions play at Glenville State 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
